The first University of California, San Diego HITS took place this past Friday and Saturday on the UCSD campus. The purpose of the symposium is to get key stakeholders and entrepreneurs together to discuss opportunities and challenges in the UCSD ecosystem in terms of taking an idea from the lab or clinic to the market. As a UC system faculty member & physician who has launched two medical device companies, Dr. Rinehart was invited by organizer Vish Krishnan to give an example pitch and talk about his own experiences in an interactive Q&A format.
